Marketing for American Arcadia
AMERICAN ARCADIA by OUT BLUE GAMES, 2021-2023
American Arcadia is an award-winning cinematic puzzle game that combines a 2.5D platformer and first-person game to tell the tale of a thrilling escape. Experience the extraordinary story of Trevor, an average man escaping from the world’s most popular reality TV show.
As part of the Out of the Blue Games team (developer) and with some support from the publisher (Raw Fury), I contributed to the marketing efforts of American Arcadia, the studio’s second game. The game was released on November 15, 2023, on Steam with very positive reviews.
Some tasks and milestones performed while taking care of American Arcadia’s marketing were:
- Internal: Marketing strategy kick-off, support materials for Tribeca Games nomination, creation and curation of social media channels, support on localization, and support for demo release on Steam Next Fest.
- External: Raw Fury marketing materials support, meetings, trailers, behind-the-scenes, developer blogs, website, steam store assets and events participation.
- Events & Awards
- Tribeca Games 2022 Selection: Handling all materials and communications, including a behind-the-scenes video that was released at The Future Games Show with more than 5.000 views.
- Weird Market Best Videogame Project Award 2023: handled the presentation, award reception, and speaker session at Valencia during the festival.
- IndieDevDay in Barcelona & Guerrilla Game Fest in Madrid events PR.
- PR: crafting the press notes and blog posts for all the phases of the project (announcement, festival selections, demo, lore, trailer release, launch) and Press Kit and Content Creator’s Kit creation and management.
- Social Media and Content Creation: created American Arcadia’s Instagram and Twitter accounts from scratch and curated Linkedin, Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook accounts, including copy and image, gif, or video creation.
Being part of the Out of the Blue team working on American Arcadia’s marketing was a wonderful experience. It gave me the chance to better understand the indie video game scene and work on the internal marketing efforts of promoting a game from its beginning to launch.
