Fight Back VR Marketing Manager

FIGHT BACK VR by WE COVEN, Venice 2022

Fight Back VR is a virtual reality experience with hand-tracking that, under the premise of saving the stars and fighting the shadows, teaches self-defense methods. Created by Céline Tricart , premiered at the Venice Film Festival 2022 and released on Meta App Lab on March 8th 2023.

Through the Women in VR Facebook group, I had the privilege of assuming the role of marketing manager for a groundbreaking virtual reality (VR) experience slated to be showcased at the prestigious Venice Film Festival in 2022. The FIGHT BACK VR project represents a remarkable fusion of VR technology, video game mechanics, and hand-tracking innovation, culminating in a captivating narrative that unveils the empowering journeys of women who have championed the advancement of self-defense knowledge.

Under the cover of a thrilling and fun adventure with hand tracking enabled, “FIGHT BACK VR” is an introduction to self defense techniques as an answer to gender-based violence.

As the VR Marketing Manager, my responsibilities encompassed the following tasks:

  • Development of the project’s website, including the installation and visual customization of the WordPress theme, design implementation, and SEO optimization.
  • Installation of a subscription plugin in preparation for an upcoming email marketing campaign.
  • Creation and distribution of a wishlist newsletter and the launch of the VR experience.
  • Assistance in PR strategy and materials, including the development of a Press Kit and coordination of interviews.
  • Conducting various playtesting sessions with users prior to the Festival launch.
  • Creation of WECOVEN’s social media presence from scratch, including strategy development, content creation, and publication.
  • On-site support during the 2-week exhibition at the Venice Immersive section on Lido Island, where hundreds of individuals visited.
  • Assistance in the production of printed graphic materials for the event.
  • Support in the creation of the experience teaser.
  • Researching opportunities for publishing the experience on platforms like App Lab or Sidequest.
  • Contacting media outlets and influencers for the experience launch.
